JUST START!

Goals are part of every aspect of life and provide a sense of direction, motivation, a clear focus, and clarify importance. By setting goals for yourself, you are providing yourself with a target to aim for. A SMART goal is used to help guide goal setting. SMART is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. Therefore, a SMART goal incorporates all of these criteria to help focus your efforts and increase the chances of achieving your goal.

My Smart Goal:

I want to be a lecture. Here is a rant that no one asked for :
Being a teacher, in the society that I live in, has more cons than pros. Let’s start at the beginning. As long as I can remember I’ve always wanted to be a teacher. And to my surprise even to this day that has received skepticism. People have always been like, teaching? Really? Not any other real profession. I just thank Allah that He helped me maintain my strength and gave me the ‘audacity’ to join the profession of teaching. I’ll tell you it’s not easy. A lot of negativity from the society, at times it’s the undue criticism from the administration, and then to top it all off a parent who thinks that they know more about teaching than the teacher, useless paperwork…….But you know that one thing which quite easily gets the spotlight and throws the cons into the shadows, the students, my students. When my students acknowledge me, show me love, respect me, when I get to know that I made a difference in their life, when they see me as their guardian, guide and hero that’s when my tired body rejuvenates that’s when my soul finds its peace. And that’s the moment when tell myself you were right Gulnaaz, to choose teaching as your profession and passion.
