This is the nature of humans that they always want a person who guides and provide a sense of care in the time of ups and downs. The potential mentor works on our self-esteem, life skills, anger management, life goals, and all aspects of communication.

The mentor is like a tree and the mentee is like branches of a tree.

Mentorship

Mentorship is a relationship between two people where the individual with more experience, knowledge, and connections is able to pass along what they have learned to a more junior individual within a certain field.

The mentor benefits because they are able to lead the future generation in an area they care about and ensure that best practices are passed along; meanwhile, the mentee benefits because they have proven that they are ready to take the next step in their career and can receive the extra help needed to make that advancement.

You should find a mentor who has a title similar to the one you would like to have one day, or who once worked in the position you have now so that you will have a common understanding of roles and responsibilities, as well as future possibilities.

We should try to choose a mentor from our own field. So, that mentor will provide guidance according to his/her work experience.

It’s true that we all have a coach and mentor. But we don’t know the difference between their work. Coaching is short-term task-based and mentoring is a longer-term relationship.

I am fortunate enough to find a mentor who provided meaningful direction and guidance during my time. Ma’am Abida Nasreen is my potential mentor. She is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Education and Research, University of the Punjab.

Ma’am Abida is very humble and polite. So, I decided to send her an email. I emailed her and share my considerations. In that mail, I wrote some of my objectives of meeting and inquiries regarding my issues.

Ma’am Abida replied to me after 5 hours and said to me that “ You can meet with me tomorrow in the department at 12'o clock. Then we will discuss these issues. It’s good that you have written about your problems in the mail. See you tomorrow.”

The next day I went to her, met with her, we both took coffee together. Then I discussed my problems with her and she deals with me very politely and guides me very well.

My questions were:

  1. How can I work smarter?
  2. How can I be successful at a job?
  3. How can I publish articles in international journals?

She explained to me very well about all these questions. And also gives me suggestions about my future goals.

  1. She said you can work smarter by paying attention to the following points. Increasing productivity, motivation, and self-esteem. It encourages you to streamline processes, fosters feelings of positivity a better quality product with less effort, which in turn naturally will boost your self-esteem.
  2. You can be effective with your work execution. You can intrigue your supervisor by indicating enthusiasm for work. Consistency and punctuality are important at a job.
  3. You can distribute your articles in worldwide diaries. Yet, before this, you ought to need to get affirmation in Ph.D. With the goal that you can send your articles to various foundations particularly global organizations. am also an article writer I will guide you.

These are the answers to my questions. Ma’am clarifies each and every inquiry well indeed. The most significant thing about this meeting was that I have gone through 3hours with my mentor.

After the meeting, I send her a thankyou note via email within 24 hours.
